Hey There, Walter |
(cont...) It seems to us that dog fighting in Atlanta along with other special interests outside of your District have your attention more than us. You backed Prosser (WA) funding for The Walter Clore Wine and Culinary Center, Tionesta's (PA) funding of a Hunting and Fishing Museum in Pennsylvania, and also funding for a zoo in Houston? The afore mentioned earmarks were singled out in an amendment by your Republican colleague Jeff Flake (R-AZ). However, you our so called Conservative Congressman, voted to fund every single one of them.
Yes, Walter you know pork, earmarks and grandstanding well enough to play politics with them and issues like Michael Vick. But, you forget about our down home issues of protecting our coastal waters and inlets. You see Walter, we have looked up your record and you did not cast a vote on HR 2641, an appropriations bill who's #1 purpose was to fund "the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for civil functions pertaining to rivers and harbors, floods and storm damage reduction and aquatic ecosystem restoration." Now Congressman, what's more important: playing politics, being an armchair quarterback on dogs, the Iraq War, your latest crusade on Border Agents Campeon & Ramos or protecting our coastal resources? Are you going to carry around a poster for them like you did with the Boy Scouts and King and King issues? For the record we think the agents got a raw deal, but other Congressmen can work on that.
If you are the "new" Walter Jones, we guess it depends on what makes a better newspaper story or radio interview (like this morning with the Laura Ingrahm Show). We really liked the old Walter Jones we voted for (time before last), better. He was the one that didn't pal around with Cindy Sheehan, Nancy Pelosi and Dennis Kuchinich. Next time; Please Walter, Please Walter, Please Walter, don't forget us when you vote. We'll remember you when we do!
