Going In the Wrong Direction? |

Where are we supposed to be going? What is our destination? Is it peace and security? Is it a booming economy? Is it the ability to continue to live in a free society under our Constitution? Is it just being able to worship God as our Judo-Christian fore-fathers envisioned?
My reading of our history as a nation leads me to believe that the intention of the majority of our Founders was to form a tolerant and free Christian country. This would be a country where other religious beliefs could be tolerated, but still take second place to the Judo-Christian moral principles that underpin the Constitution. Pagan practices and pagan governance as outlined in the Bible would not rule the day, the individual or our culture.
The direction our founders took was that of a God Fearing, God Respecting, God Worshiping, God Obeying society bound by a government that respected individual freedom and the individual’s neighbors. This was to be a strong and just government not one that wavered from core principles on the basis of polling, graft, high taxation or greedy politics. The three constitutionally designated parts of government were to be balancing, but not dominating outside of their Constitutional place on government’s stage.
To the under-educated or poorly educated citizen of today’s voting America, the cry of the media and Far Left that we are going in the wrong direction is right, but they don’t ask, tell or say where we going? They assume someone out there other than them knows or if they do it’s a secret and they expect us like lemmings join the crowd. Great off we go to God only knows where. Maybe that’s not so far fetched, just maybe God does know!
If we take out our individual owner’s manual (the Bible) read Old Testament Prophets like Jeremiah and then read our nation’s owner’s manual (the Constitution). Maybe with education and training we can tune up this rambling wreck that is going in circles and may eventually implode. Just possibly we can get back on track and see that we are to really be living for One Nation, Under God!
Except for a short time after 9/11 when churches were flooded by praying Americans we have continued the post Vietnam walk away from God’s word in both the Old and New Testaments. We worship an individualism that forgets or replaces God with self. We think caring for one’s neighbor is not stepping into the fray in the alley behind your house or intervening by military force on a despot in another country. We have come to believe that pagan practices of child sacrifice (abortion), homosexual practices, drug/alcohol abuse and idol worship of vicarious living by TV and movie stars or star athletics is better than having God. We fail to honor the sacrifice of others and want that which we have not ourselves earned. We think more often than not that money, the courts and government are the answers to every problem. We have become so worldly that we believe all gods are really the same as our God.
God in his wisdom has tried over and over again to give us and this Nation some direction. Look to me God says, but we look away. Look at the past, it is you best predictor of the future but we don’t glance back. Won’t happen again or here for that matter we say. God sent prophets, and a Son. He still sends messengers, but we don’t listen. We allow Satan’s deceptive voices to whisper false dreams of easy living and power. Then finally an alarm begins to sound as the Stalinists, Bin Ladens and other radical political and religious pagans start to take world power. Why is this happening? Well, the answer is simple. We don’t follow God’s directions, ten of them, called Commandments. We give God the old brush off right out of our lives.
We have taken God’s Word or words out of about every public place and forum. We can not know direction unless we get and follow direction. We must read Our Nation’s owners manuals, and practice driving/governance more than on Saturday or Sunday, we must do it every day. We must stand on Judo-Christian Principles and the Constitution. Understand that God has brought this marvelous country into existence and will provide blessings if we do our part of the job. None of us will leave this earth alive. The question is where do we go from here, what directions / guidance will we leave for those who are to follow our generations? Will some radical fanatical group or group of countries end this experiment in a free Democracy? Will we survive the Babylon of today al Qaeda? I do not know that answer, but I believe it is; “Your call, and your choice”! Freedom of Choice is God Given.
All that God asks is a return if America wishes, to His Path and that we walk toward Him. Then the Grace he so lovingly gives becomes the destination. May God continue to bless America and especially those men and women of our Armed Forces who sacrifice for God and Country.
