Last week your Immigration package maneuvered by McCain, Kyle, Graham, Kennedy and Reid crashed. The brick wall was the loud voice of a maturing Republican conservative base plus independents and Democrats standing up via e-mail, fax, phone and letter speaking to their elected Senators and Congressmen saying; “We have had it with illegal immigration and we expect our current laws to be enforced.”
I am not sure who is advising you in Washington on Illegal immigration, but evidently they are out of touch with real working or retired Americans. We are well read, well informed about the issue and not xenophobic, anti-Hispanic or anti-immigrant! We support legal immigration and worker programs, but expect our borders to be secure and all our Laws enforced at the Federal and State levels.
You, Mr. President now have a “Bully Pulpit” if you want it. Your platform is us, those loud obnoxious American Citizens not politicians inside the Beltway. Call for the legislated money and manpower to close the U.S. Borders now. Build the fence now, not next year. If we can build a Space Station, and huge dams in no time we can build a secure fence system, but you must mobilize the country. We are already energized.
The question/objection is always; “What about the 12 million illegal persons now in the USA”? The simple answer is; every illegal that is picked up by law enforcement for any violation of law is deported immediately. Those committing serious offenses are tried, jailed and then deported. Not real complicated, a couple of Executive Orders, trucks, busses, planes, National Guard and more I.C.E. agents should do it. Once you start watch a bunch of left over “Undocumented Americans” as Senator Reid calls them now, begin to make a run for Mexico or Canada.
So there you have it, Mr. President. You don’t have to give mouth to mouth resuscitation to dead legislation. We, the everyday people outside of Washington, DC are giving you a Marching Order, Secure the Border Now! Looking for a legacy better than Jimmy Carter’s? Well you better quit reaching across the aisle and getting your hand cut off because we are going to continue to raise political Hell when you do.
