“Oil” |
(Cont)
I guess the faster you go the less gas you burn and the lower
the price is when you have to fill-up again. So it would appear
that any attempt to slow down and save gas would help drive up
the cost. I guess that’s why the President has not ordered a
slow down nor has our Governor in Raleigh.
Since supply and demand is the backbone of our economy I now see
why the Democrat Congress voted last week not to let us extract
the oil from the shale beds in Colorado right up to Canada. Boy,
they have also done a great job along with the “greenies” in
keeping any Big Oil from building new or refurbishing old
refineries. My SUV with the big “D” engine is parked, but maybe
when the winter heating season is over the cost of diesel will
get back down to $4.00 and close to the price of gasoline. Oh,
shucks you mean it’s already over? Missed another chance to pull
the old RV down the road and spend a tourist dollar or two.
Like I was saying we sure have to give it to the Democrat
Congress, since the elections of 2006 they have done a great job
of helping the OPEC folks toss the old screw to us. According to
Investors Business Daily (May 16th) Brazil made a major oil
discovery right in view of Rio and they are going to drill
faster than you can say “carnival time”. How about off shore
drilling from North Carolina down to Florida? Guess that is sort
of like windmills off Cape Cod.
Well, as I observed most folks are not about to slow down and
the Democrat controlled Congress will not act, but they will
continue to blame Big Oil and President Bush then gripe and moan
about gas prices. I feel a lot better knowing the polar bears
and caribou are well and thriving. I relieved that little chunk
of Alaska that nobody ever sees is protected. By the way I am
giving up caribou hunting.
