In 1989, one of those
events occurred the failure of a so called; “thrift”, a Savings & Loan unknown
to most called Lincoln Savings and Loan. This caused a financial crunch and
later a big bailout of the “Thrift Industry” by the government with Your tax
dollars. One of the seamier aspects was the revelation that five
U.S.
Senators and tried to intercede with the Regan Administration on behalf of
Charles Keating the President of Lincoln Savings. Four of these Senators were
Democrats that had received campaign contributions from and the fifth was a
Republican hence, the name Keating Five! Keating went to prison.
What a
Republican caught up with Democrats? Yes, just like McCain/
Finegold, Immigration Amnesty, the Gang of Fourteen, and voting
against tax cuts that fifth person a Republican had joined with
Democrats to get the government to back off of Keating. Who is
that under the table, back door player, you ask? Why it’s the
fellow who is now many years later running for President Senator
John McCain. Don’t you dare ask how much that little campaign
contribution indiscretion cost the
U.S.Taxpayer.
John
McCain has always played fast and loose, like all Mavericks he
prides himself on walking on the edge. Read his own book, his
words; Faith of My Fathers if you want insight into the real
man. McCain is; hot tempered; loose cannon and you can not
depend on him to fire in a set direction! His record is moderate
not really conservative. So, think hard and research McCain’s
record before scratching off others. Being a War Hero and a
Senator as well as a party to foolish non partisanship does not
automatically qualify one for President. Actions more often
speak louder than words. In this respect past behavior is
probably a predictor of another Lyndon Johnson.
We
still have a long way to go in picking our delegates to the
National Republican Convention. Our North Carolina Primary vote
is not until May! So, there is still time to study and choose no
one has to fall in line because of Super Tuesday’s vote. Make
North Carolina
count don’t let the media decide this election.
