She refers to illegal aliens as
“undocumented immigrants.” That’s like calling the drug dealers
in the Carteret
County jail “unlicensed pharmacists.”
The 12 million illegal aliens to which she refers-- I have seen
in print figures ranging from 10 million to 20 million--
represent about .4% of our population. Talk about the tail
wagging the dog!
Her words: “…the
rhetoric in this debate has turned toxic….,” “The language
reflects this anger….” It seems to me that the anger and toxic
rhetoric was aimed at the Democrats and RINOs in congress, and
our president, who wanted to shove that amnesty bill down our
throats. Speaking of a person as an illegal alien does not
“dehumanize” him. It is simply a factual description of the
unlawful entry into this country by a foreign national. I
suppose Ms. Roman will next want us to refer to prisoners as
“liberty challenged victims.”
I don’t think it feasible or
reasonable for the government forcibly to deport however many
millions of illegal aliens there are in the U. S. But why don’t
we let them deport themselves? Here’s how: 1) Close the border.
2) Use social security numbers to identify illegal aliens. 3)
Make it a crime to employ an illegal alien. Fine and/or jail
those who knowingly and willfully do so. 4) Cease all federal,
state and local aid to illegals, excepting only lifesaving
medical care. 5) Stop the anchor baby foolishness for illegal
aliens. 6) Stop all federal and state aid to local governments
who refuse to cooperate with immigration authorities and will
not enforce federal immigration laws. These are the so called
sanctuary cities.
Recent events have
proved that drying up jobs and aid forces illegal aliens to move
out of state. Let’s apply this proven method on a national
scale. Having the illegal aliens voluntarily return to their
native country is not cruel punishment, as Ms. Roman implies, it
is simply a matter of our national survival.
